My Week’s Joy 3/6-3/13

Inspired by one of my favorite blogs I thought it would be a great idea to look back each week at those things that brought me the most joy. This is far too fitting for my blog to ignore the idea so I look forward to posting these each week!

1. Making a LEGO family

While prepping for the post about our love of LEGO  we spent time as a family  creating our minifigure selves. The three big kids loved getting to choose what clothes, hair, and accessories would be a part of their minifigure. It was so fun to see what they each chose.

2. Speaking of LEGO…

We will be celebrating Jamison’s 6th birthday this month and he wants a LEGO party so I went to Amazon and found these great silicon molds for making candy cupcake toppers. He is so excited!

3. A boy and his Daddy

My heart simply bursts each time I see this picture. Anders had had ENOUGH of his highchair the other morning at breakfast. Usually when the babies say they are done we get them out and they wander around the kitchen until we bring them upstairs. One day last week, however, Anders climbed into Micah’s lap, grabbed my fork, and helped himself to some eggs. It was so cute to see them together enjoying breakfast.

4. Pirate Captain America

I made this hair bow for Mercedes over two years ago and every once in a while she busts it out and insists on wearing it right in the middle of her forehead. However this time it needed to be a pirate eye patch. She giggled like crazy as I was trying to get a picture of her. Because she was giggling I couldn’t get a non-blurry picture and when I would show her the picture of her blur she would giggle more which meant more blurry pictures. Crazy cycle just kept going.

5. Visit from Family

Micah’s parents came to visit for the weekend and brought our niece with them. She and Mercedes are the only girls out of eight cousins so we try to make sure they get some time together when we can. We live far apart so it doesn’t happen as often as we’d like but the girls usually have a pretty good time together. There were some battles over sharing baby dolls but the kids all had fun and we always love having them here. Lots of fun, laughter, and great conversations. And food. Can’t forget food!

6. Celebrating Jamison

It’s almost Jamison’s birthday but we are doing two celebrations since it’s hard to get both sides of the family together at one time. For party #1 he wanted strawberry cupcakes topped with LEGO candy so using the molds from up above I made candies. I also ran across the minifigure masks, banner, and tablecloth to make the house a little more festive. The kids had a blast making their masks and I know we will get lots of use out of the decorations since the love of LEGO is strong in this house!

Where did you find joy this week?
