Three Word Wednesday: Follow His Path

I’m linking this up over at 152 Insights to My Soul.

From Kristin: #ThreeWordWednesday is simple, really. I know we’re all busy with life and kids and jobs and parents and friends and church and whatever else it is that occupies our time. Some weeks I’m not sure what my post will be about, but knowing people will show up here on Wednesdays is good motivation to write something.#ThreeWordWednesday is a chance to pause and hear God. Sum up what you’re hearing in three words. Those three words are enough. But stories are good too.

Follow His Path

God has set a certain path before each of us. He has called each of us in a different way but the path leads to him. If we submit to his will and follow His path we will reap such great rewards.

So why do we find it so easy to stray from this path? To try and forge our own way as if we know better?

I feel myself being called to do something big. Something daring. But I also hear a voice of “nope.” A voice saying, “You aren’t cut out for that.” A little sprinkle of, “Nobody cares.”  Then topped off with, “It would be too much work.”

God doesn’t set a path before us that he doesn’t intend us to walk down. His path is good. His ways are perfect. The path may not always make sense to us but it does to Him.

And enough with the “I’m not good enough” mantra. He doesn’t choose perfect and well equipped people. Moses was “slow of speech and tongue (Exodus 4:10)” but God still called him and used him. Moses followed the path that God set before him.

It can take great faith to follow God’s path, especially when it requires us to stretch out of our comfort zone. I pray that we would each have the faith we need to take the path one step at a time, to trust God’s perfect ways, and follow the path he has set before us.

Is God calling you to follow Him? On what path is He leading you? Are you ready to faithfully follow?

What beautiful pictures!! I know just where you are — I am there too! God is calling me to do something BIG…and that is to stay small. This is big for me, because I have been in a "small" place for so long and I am itching to break out. I have been grieving over my smallness and lamenting to the Lord. His reply has something to do with how He loves small things…dust (like me) and mustard seeds (shows He can use small to make something big)…I keep hearing "be faithful with little," but I know that it doesn’t follow that He necessarily turn around and will give me something bigger afterward, at least not bigger by the world’s standards. But I know that smallness is the way He is calling me toward living the abundant life. I need to just get up, get off the side of the road, and walk.

I am stopping by from #ThreeWordWednesday and am so glad that I did! 🙂

    1. Thank you for stopping by and commenting! You are right, that is a BIG thing to do. It’s so easy to want bigger and bigger that staying small can seem almost worthless. But small can make such a huge impact. I think you poured into me something that I needed as well! Thank you again!
