DId you get a chance to spend some time with this week’s promises. This week was an easy choice for me. Ready to see what verse I chose?

I will give you, My follower, more and a better life than you have ever known.

This is one of my favorite verses and has been for so many years. There are people who believe that being a Christian means a life of no more fun. Of turning down adventures and parties and joy. From a worldly standpoint, I guess this might be true for some. But I have had more joy as a Christian than I ever had before knowing Christ. This promise right here shows that our lives are meant to be FULL and ENJOYED. That we are meant to THRIVE in Christ.

A full life as a Christian may not look like the world thinks of a full life. It might not be filled with huge houses, an overflowing bank account, and lavish vacations. It might not feature rubbing elbows with celebrities, the newest tech, or even freedom from hardship (remember, we are promised we WILL have trouble – John 16:33). The key is that by trusting the Lord and giving our lives to Him we will have peace and have LIFE! Nothing that happens in this life can take us from Him. Amen!

Satan will use so many ways to distract us from focusing on Jesus. He wants to KILL our faith, STEAL our joy, and DESTROY our lives. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Let him show you the abundance in front of you. Focus on the blessings he has poured out on you and your family. Keep a journal, write down things you are grateful for each day. Bless those around you and you will feel blessed in return. Love those around you so they can see HIM in you.

Lord Jesus, I thank you so much that you have overcome this world and that you bring LIFE to those who trust in you. And not just any life, but a full life. A life of peace that will surpass all understanding because of you. Even when troubles come we can find joy in knowing you and that you are in control. Help us, Lord, to live fully for you each day. Amen.
