Inspired by one of my favorite blogs I thought it would be a great idea to look back each week at those things that brought me the most joy. This is far too fitting for my blog to ignore the idea so I look forward to posting these each week!
Do you want to know my favorite part about starting this blog and making a point of choosing to see joy in my normal, everyday life? I’m seeing it everywhere now and it’s so hard to not want to share CONSTANTLY about the joy around me.
It’s been a bit of a crazy week! The big boys were at the farm enjoying some time with Grammy and Papa so I “only” had three kids for most of the time! We had some adventures, lots of extra cuddles, and some silly play time. Then we took a trip to the farm for a big celebration and to bring the boys back home.
1. Visiting the lake
I wrote about this last Wednesday but taking this trip on my own was a huge step for me. My goal for June was to have some adventures with the kids and this was a fantastic adventure that I’m so glad I took. The kids had a blast and I know it was a big treat for my parents.
2. Cade’s hair decor
Silly play time! Cade spent much of one afternoon walking around with this felt “ketchup” in his hair. I’m not sure if he put it there or it just got attached but he wandered around with it on his head for quite a while. It made me giggle every time he looked at me!
3. Building with Daddy
Micah got two LEGO sets from the kids for Father’s Day. The Hulkbuster and Rey’s Speeder. He’s been wanting these two sets for quite some time so I knew it was a good plan for a gift. He decided that rather than building them with me or on his own that he would build them with the big kids. Mercedes got to help with Rey’s Speeder this week after breakfast and the boys will get to help with The Hulkbuster next week. I love watching him share his love of LEGO with the kids.
4. Cousins!
It’s so fun to see all the cousins playing together. It doesn’t get to happen as often as we like so we need to soak it up while we can!
5. Country sunsets
On Saturday night Micah and I went for a four wheeler ride and the sunset was simply breathtaking. It was the exact colors I was going for in my hair this time – purple, pink, orange, and yellow. BEAUTIFUL! God is such an incredible artist.
6. Celebrating 65 years!
Micah’s grandparents celebrated 65 years of marriage this month so the family surprised them by attending their church and having a big party in the afternoon. Such a treat to see everyone together!
How was your week? Where did you find joy? What is your favorite activity to do with your kids?
