Weekly Menu Plan #48

I love menu planning and seeing other’s dinner plans! I’m weird like that 😉 As I’ve shared before, being in the kitchen is my happy place so I love finding meals that are new but I also never forget our favorites! These will link to the author’s original recipe unless it’s my own recipe/creation that I don’t have a link for… yet.

If you need some inspiration for how to create menu plans you can read here where I go into detail about how I make a plan for our food week and here to read how I create our grocery list.

I don’t make specific plans for breakfast and lunch but these are the basics I rotate between while throwing in a few other things for special days or weeks when I have the right ingredients.

Breakfasts: Pancakes, Coffee Cake, Egg Sandwiches, Sausage Balls, Eggs (various ways), English Muffins, Banana Bread, Biscuits and Gravy, and various types of muffins.

Lunches: Leftovers, PB&J, Meat and Cheese Wraps, Cheese Quesadillas, and Mac ‘n’ Cheese.

Dinners, however, are always planned for since they tend to take the most ingredients and prep time. Here’s what’s on our menu this week:

Sunday: Potato Cheese Soup – We just made this over Christmas weekend but it’s soup weather and this is a favorite among all of us. I may make bread bowls, I may not. Depends on how motivated I get!

Monday: Out to Eat – Micah and the kids have the day off because of the holiday so we are using one of our gift cards from Christmas for a special treat. Plus it’s a night off from dishes!

Tuesday: Pizza Pasta – This was a big win when we made it a month or two ago so I’m bringing it back around. Of course that means this time no one will eat it, right?

Wednesday: Biscuit Pot Pie – I had completely forgotten this meal existed until it popped up in my memories on Facebook. I used to make it all the time when the big boys were little but I bet it’s been years. Hopefully it goes over well with the other kids!

Thursday: Leftovers

Friday: Homemade Pizza and Movie Night – you can find my pizza crust recipe here.

Saturday: Chicken Strips – Micah and I will probably turn our strips into Sticky Finger Wraps but the kids will eat them on their own. I really love this breading recipe. It’s a little bit of work but so worth the flavor and crisp texture.

What’s on your menu this week? Are there any meals you used to make frequently that you don’t make as often anymore? What made you stop making those meals?
