School music program, embracing YOU, and women’s worship night – 7 places I found joy in chaos this week

Every week I like to take a moment to showcase the moments that brought me the most joy. Sometimes they are awesome activities and other times it’s a sweet moment between the kids. There are always moments that can fill us with joy if we choose to see them with a thankful heart.

Jamison had a big week with two different programs at school. My running to a back seat because we got SNOW on Wednesday along with below freezing temps. But it melted and the sun came out to help us really enjoy a great weekend with my mom and sister. These are my favorite moments from the week – the moments I found joy in the chaos.

1. Jamison’s Wild West Music Show

It was Jamison’s first music program at school and he did so great! We loved watching him dance along and sing his songs. He was animated and so fun to watch. This boy may have a future on stage despite his shy persona.

2. Kid Kitchen Day

Tuesday is my kitchen day which means I spend a good portion of the day in the kitchen. I want the kids to be around that so I’ve started bringing out the play-doh so they can play along in the same room. They had a BLAST and begged to keep it out longer. I think this will be a new fun part of our week.

3. 4-wheeling Fun

Parker got this remote controlled 4-wheeler toy a couple years ago from my brother. The little guys love driving it around without the remote but this week Cade decided to pretend riding it and it brought a smile to my face! It’s the little things.

4. Embracing YOU

Have you seen my new shirt? I simply love it. I shared a whole message on what this shirt means to me but if you want your very own “be weird” shirt you can snag it from Cents of Style. There are several other “BE” message shirts as well including “be still” “be kind” and “be brave” so you can find the perfect fit for your own story.

5. Women’s Worship Night

My MOPS group hosted a worship night for our group on Thursday. It doesn’t look like many people but we’ve been averaging about 25 women per meeting so when about 15 of us showed up for an extra event it was incredible! Not to mention how powerful and moving it was to spend almost two hours worshiping God among sisters in Christ. If you have a chance to organize a women’s worship night I highly encourage it!

6. Punch & Poetry

Jamison’s second program this week was a punch and poetry party in his classroom. They spent the last couple months memorizing poems to recite to parents and other visitors. We all got cups of punch to enjoy while listening to the kids and our kids guzzled it down before the program was even half over. Jamison did a poem about dinosaurs and did so great!

7. Park time

With my mom and sister tagging along we all walked up to the park on Saturday morning to burn off lots of energy before going to lunch. It was a beautiful morning. I’m really glad we live within walking distance to a great park that has plenty to do. I’m also so thankful that it warmed up so we could enjoy the outdoors with family this weekend rather than being cooped up inside.
