Mommy son date and a big milestone – 4 places I found joy in the chaos this week

Every week I like to take a moment to showcase the moments that brought me the most joy. Sometimes they are awesome activities and other times it’s a sweet moment between the kids. There are always moments that can fill us with joy if we choose to see them with a thankful heart.

I’m trying out a new way to showcase the pictures this week. Instead of uploading each picture individually I’m testing out a gallery of pictures with captions. Hopefully this works well because it saves quite a bit of time.
Turns out the gallery didn’t work. We got reports of people not being able to see the photos even though they were showing up in the post editor. We tried it in three different browsers and none of them showed the images! Super bummed it didn’t work so I came back to edit the post and add the images in the old way. Thanks for being patient!

We wrapped up the second to last week of school this week! Only three more school days and it’s officially summer break. I’m excited for the plans in store for us this summer and you’ll be able to hear more about them on Wednesday for my monthly goals. For now, let’s check out the moments of joy in chaos this week.

1. Mommy Son Date

Jamison and I hit up CherryBerry for our mommy son date. He’s naturally a fairly quiet kid so it’s really special to spend some one-on-one time with him and hear what is going through his head.

2. Back outside

After several days of “cold” weather (we were having highs in the 40s and low 50s) and major winds it was nice to get back outside this week.

3. Learning her name

Mercedes hit a big milestone this week when she asked to learn the letters in her name! The only letter I helped her form was her C but the rest was all her. She still doesn’t fully know the names or sounds of the letters in her name but she can form them which is one step closer. One of my goals for this summer is for her to know the names of her “name letters” so we will see how it goes!

4. Simple fascination

We had a few of these little pill sponge toys left. The kids have been asking to grow them for weeks so we finally dropped them in the water. It took mere minutes for the capsules to reveal the creatures inside and the kids sat captivated as they grew. Such a simple thing to bring joy to them.

Where did you find joy in your chaos this week?
