Every week I like to take a moment to showcase the moments that brought me the most joy. Sometimes they are awesome activities and other times it’s a sweet moment between the kids. There are always moments that can fill us with joy if we choose to see them with a thankful heart.

It was a busy but great week! It took a little bit of time to adjust back to our normal lives but I think we are back on track. We had two birthdays to celebrate this week and I had a big dinner planned with my MOPS moms that I was helping host. This meant I had to spend a little time getting the house out of disaster zone and into “people can walk through this place” zone. I didn’t go crazy, I simply wiped down the bathroom because yuck, vacuumed the carpet because kid crumbs, and wiped down counters and tables because sticky hands. It was a great night with friends and I’m so happy I got to invite people over!
I’m looking forward to Halloween this week but our temps are not looking too friendly. I’m really hoping it doesn’t dip below freezing but since the high on Tuesday is only 37* I’m guessing there is a good chance we will all be trick or treating as snow sledders 😉
1. Anders’ Birthday
He’s three! On Tuesday it was all about Anders. He picked coffee cake for breakfast, mac n’ cheese for lunch, and popcorn shrimp and french fries for dinner. He kept insisting he was four but I think he’s finally figured out that he’s actually three. He’s turning in to such a chatterbox and now we can usually figure out what he’s saying 😉
2. Cade’s Birthday
Wednesday was all about Cade for his birthday! He chose cream cheese kolaches for breakfast, peanut butter and jelly for lunch, and hot dogs, potato salad, and baked beans for dinner. Being that he is ALL ABOUT BATMAN right now we got him two LEGO Batman sets and a new Batman sweatshirt. He was over the moon!
3. School Pictures
Gah! Aren’t they just perfect? This is the first year both boys have given us real, natural smiles for pictures. Normally at least one of them does the weird, forced smile that makes us laugh like crazy but isn’t their real, beautiful smile. I was elated when I pulled these out of their bags. So cute!
4. Church party
On Friday night our church opened up their doors for a Harvest party with a free dinner, carnival games, and costume contest. Parker went as Harry Potter, Jamison as Wolverine, Mercedes as a Rainbow Witch, Anders as Superman, and Cade as Batman. We partied until almost 8pm then everyone crashed pretty hard when we got home. It was such a blast seeing so many people dressed up in costume.
5. Costume contest winner
On Saturday night the boys’ school had a fall party and there was a costume contest for each grade. Jamison won best overall costume for 2nd grade in his BB-8 costume. We grabbed it on clearance last year at Target for 90% off – so worth it! What was even funnier though was the announcer saying the winner was Jamison in his “hubble bubble costume.” What? Apparently that teacher has never seen The Force Awakens!
