Every week I like to take a moment to showcase the moments that brought me the most joy. Sometimes they are awesome activities and other times it’s a sweet moment between the kids. There are always moments that can fill us with joy if we choose to see them with a thankful heart.

Anyone else feel like Halloween was already ages ago? I was going back through my pictures for the week and came across shots from Tuesday and it was like, “Oh yea, we went trick or treating this week! That seems like it was so long ago.”
For real, I thought it was at least two weeks ago already. Could be that we now have snow on the ground and I’m itching to get Christmas stuff up but I’m restraining myself another week or two… I think 😉
1. His first Mommy-Son date
Now that the little boys are three we get to go on dates with them! Anders is older so he got to go first. He wanted chips and dip so we went to Moe’s, split a burrito bowl (because I can get 3 meals out of one- easily) and added on a cup of queso. He had so much fun and it was a new experience to spend solo time with one of the twins.
2. Plus his first Mommy-Son date!
Cade chose a trip to CherryBerry and they were offering half off your cup when you wore a costume so we both dressed up. Then I found out I had enough points for our ice cream to be free! He’s such a sweet boy, he kept offering me bites and told me that he missed Anders. I love the bond these two have.
3. Snow gear
Knowing that the weather will be changing soon I pulled out the snow gear to see what we had that fit and what we needed to hunt down at thrift stores. I bought the green and black snow suit at Kohl’s two years ago on super clearance for about $8. It’s a 24month but fits Anders perfectly! Cade is wearing 3T snow pants left from the older boys and I’ve got a 4T coat for him. It will be a bit big but it should last 2 winters and then get passed to Anders. They are really excited to go out and play now!
4. Halloween!
It was the chilliest Halloween we’ve had since living in our new house and we had to layer with coats and extra clothing. The little boys made it about 45 minutes before asking to go home and after a quick warm up and a piece of candy Micah brought the older three out for another 45 minutes. There were barely any trick or treaters out because of the cold so we have oodles of candy in our house. Micah’s co-workers are going to be quite please when I send it all to the office soon!
5. Girly hair day
Mercedes got her hair cut and I got a new color this week. Getting her haircut by someone other than mommy is a special treat that only Mercedes gets. We are trying to find perks to being the lone girl with four brothers while she feels lonely right now and this was one I came up with. I’m just happy to have an easier time brushing her hair and she looks so sweet! And I’m ready for the cold temps with my darker hair – it’s been a long time since I’ve been this dark!
6. Play-doh with friends
I got to watch a friend’s kids for a couple hours again this week and our favorite group activity is play-doh. The little boys got new sets for their birthdays so we opened those up and all sat at the table creating a multitude of squishy projects.
