Homemaking does not really come naturally to me.

There. I said it. Phew!

Here I am, a “home management” type blogger and I struggle with homemaking.

I hope you’ve never thought of me as having all my poop in a group because that’s certainly not how I want to come across.

Nah, my floor has crumbs, my carpet has stains, and I HATE cleaning the bathroom. I frequently live out of laundry baskets. It’s always clean… but rarely put away.

Why am I confessing all of this to you?

Because I want you to know – YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

No, I’m not yelling. Okay, a little. But not in a mean way, but in a triumphant, claim your imperfections type of way. Real life happens in this house. But I’m working with it and trying to find solutions that work for us in this current stage of life. Things we were doing a year or so ago might not work for us anymore and what is working today might seem insane to me a year from now.

Want to know how I find most solutions for our home issues? I read blogs and talk to my friends. I test a possible solution and then evaluate to decide if it works for us. I’ve been using Home Management How-To as my cleaning guide for about a year now and it usually works well… until I play around with my days so much that nothing actually gets done.

I want to refresh my homemaking skills. I want to add some more tools to my toolbox and see if there is another method out there that might work better. I always want to be learning!

Because of this, I am teaming up with Katy from Finding Home to offer a Free Facebook Group so we can all work on our homemaking skills together. We will be kicking off the group with a big Clean Your Home challenge starting the week of April 16th. As we progress we will take on more areas of homemaking but we wanted to start with a firm foundation and get our homes ready.

If you feel like you are struggling to create routines for your home, stay on top of the tasks you need to accomplish, or just want more ideas for making your home function smoothly I want to encourage you to join this group. It’s totally free and I have a feeling we will be having lots of fun. I plan on doing some live videos of me actually cleaning parts of my house :-O Yeah, I’m getting super personal in there.

If you are ready to take control of your house and have fun at the same time, hop on over and join the group. We would love to see you there!
