Before having my first baby, I thought that making meals for new moms was just a nice thing to do. Once she was born and the absolute ravenousness overtook me – I fully understood how much of a lifeline these easy meals truly are.

10 Easy & Healthy Meals For New Moms
All of these meals are Trim Healthy Mama approved and gluten-free. Basically, all that means is that your new mama friend will be nourished and filled up with goodness. Each meal has a balance of carbs, fats, and protein – which is perfect for exhausted bodies.

What’s For Dinner?
Easy Taco Casserole
This is one of our new favorites! It’s a make-one/take-one meal which is a total score in my book. It took me about 30 minutes to prep both meals, and most of that time was spent waiting for the rice to cook. This meal freezes well.
Bring chips and salsa to go along with this meal.
These meatballs speak to my soul. They are absolutely scrumptious! The meatballs take very little prep and the recipe makes a lot of HUGE meatballs. You can easily freeze the meatballs after they are cooked. When I do that, I make a fresh half batch of the sauce to pour over when I reheat the meatballs.
Bring a bag of steamable frozen veggies and rice of choice. Our local grocery store has steamable bags of cauliflower rice and brown rice which makes things easy for new moms!
Chicken Bacon Rice Casserole

Guilt-free comfort food, come to mama! This casserole is a staple in our home. Easy prep with divine results. If you want to bulk the meal a little bit, you can do half cauliflower rice (which the recipe calls for) and half brown rice.
Bring a bag of steamable frozen veggies. You can also add wilted spinach to the casserole before baking for extra veggie power.
Crockpot White Chicken Chili
It’s hearty. It’s a teensy bit spicy. It’s delicious. AND it’s a crockpot meal – ohhh yea. If you’re cramped for time but still want to bless another mom with a meal, this meal is perfect for you. Throw it all together in the morning, then when you come home all you have to do is pack it up and deliver. Got a little extra time? Blend half of the cooked beans and then add back to the crockpot to add creaminess.
Throw in a bag of tortilla chips and sour cream to make it complete.
Tuscan Cream Chicken

We have this meal just about every week in our home so, naturally, I have to share it with everyone that I know. Everyone that I’ve served this to has wanted the recipe – that is a good sign that this meal is truly scrumptious! Best of all, it takes about 20 minutes to make.
Serve over brown rice or cauliflower rice, and if you aren’t a THM, pasta.
3-Ingredient Crockpot Chicken Tacos
5-minute prep? Count me in! Sooo so easy to make and pack to deliver to the new mom in need. Oh, and don’t bother shredding with two forks, use a hand mixer or KitchenAid mixer (with large beater attachment) to quickly shred the chicken.
Bring along little containers/baggies full of diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, tortillas, salsa, sour cream, shredded cheese, avocado, and whatever else you like on tacos!
Cook Out on Wheels
Grill some burgers, hot dogs and corn on the cob. Fill up little baggies/containers with all of the fixin’s to go along with it. New moms get plenty of casseroles, so break the mold and do something fun!
What to pack: buns, lettuce, tomato, condiments, baked beans, fruit, burgers/hot dogs and corn on the cob.
Big Family Salads with Lots of Fixin’s
Another simple meal that is out of the norm for new moms to receive. Sometimes self-care is simply eating more vegetables!
Rip up lettuce, shred/chop some cooked meat, slice some cucumber, dice some tomato.
Then, pick a carb to add in: quinoa, brown rice, diced sweet potato, or mango.
Let’s get some yummy fats now: avocado, cheese, nuts, or a oil based dressing.
The Thing Everyone Forgets – Breakfast and Snacks!
As a new mom, breakfast was hands-down the hardest meal of the day for me! I woke up famished but my baby needed to nurse right away. So I would sit there for the 40+ minute nursing sessions absolutely starving or I’d resort to some empty carbs that wouldn’t really help me in the long run.
I know you came looking for dinner recipes, but please – make easy breakfasts for your new moms friends!
Egg Quiche (Crustless Bacon Quiche or 3-ingredient Crustless Quiche)
Two awesomely easy and delish recipes for egg quiche. Deliver baked, cooled and cut. All the new mama will have to do is serve and heat. Now, that’s love!
Oatmeal Cups (an easy one-handed meal)
This recipe is quick to make, a breeze to pack and deliver, easy to eat one-handed and the list goes on! I have made these oatmeal cups many, many times and they have never failed me. Here are some variations that I have tried:
Substitute 1 Cup applesauce in place 2 bananas – sometimes you just don’t have time to mash bananas!
Substitute 6 doonks Trim Healthy Mama stevia for Gentle Sweet
Add in shredded coconut, chocolate chips, strawberries, peaches, and/or banana. (Raisins do NOT work well in this recipe.)
Serve with greek yogurt.
Serve with a splash of almond milk and sliced strawberries.
Fruit and Veggies – Pre-washed and Cut
Fruit and veggies were greatly missed during our newborn days. Sometimes, with a new baby, it flat out too much to wash and cut up fruit and vegetables for yourself. As a new mom, you need fast, quick and easy to eat.
Make some baggies of cut-up fresh fruits. Mix up a fruit salad to bring!
Wash and cut up cucumber, carrots, brocolli, peppers and whatever else you know she’d like. Want to be extra awesome? Make a dip for the veggies.
