The only oven cleaner you will ever need
Can we simply pause for a moment and admire how good my oven looks. First time in 4 years I’ve gotten it this clean. I thought that glass was permanently orange.
I was wrong.
Even the oven racks look brand new. It’s a miracle and I didn’t end up with a sore back, raw fingers, or nasty smell in my house.
Check out my latest blog post to discover the only cleaner I used plus some extra tips & tricks for cleaning your oven.
Are my kids old enough for Marvel movies?
Have you seen Avengers: Endgame yet? We saw it at 2am on opening night to avoid any possible spoilers. We watched at 21 movies leading up to the movie in the weeks preceding the release. We love Marvel movies. Like a lot.
But we haven’t shown any of them to our kids.
Despite raising fellow geeks, despite showing them several of the Star Wars movies, despite our deep love for the movies and characters, we have not let them see them – yet.
Want to know why?

Declutter Before Organizing
I wish I had a before picture of this closet. It was a level covering of shoes. And they only belonged to the two adults in this house 🙄 Whoops! Way to set a good example 😉
We picked up this shoe organizer at @target and in less than 30 minutes I had it assembled and the closet looking like it should. Not only do our does have a home, but my purse does too! No more tossing it on the floor with everything else.
Sometimes decluttering is the answer to a messy space. Other times it’s a container. But never the container before decluttering. If I’ve learned anything over the years it’s that. Get rid of stuff first, then organize it. Period.
24,000 people and counting have joined!
24,000 people ready to make a change in their home. 24,000 people deciding that they are tired of living with items they don’t use, cause stress, or are simply done keeping around.
The video is a mere 15 minutes. That’s it! You could watch it while making dinner, in place of scrolling through social media, or whole goofing in the bathroom from the incessant “mommy, mommy, mommy” chants.
This challenge is completely self paced. Don’t have time to declutter today? Watch the video and be prepared for the weekend. Block out time in your schedule to make this a priority. I promise you will be glad you did. I’ve taken on two areas in our home and I’m getting ready for more.
Sign-ups for this challenge have closed. Take a look at my Clutter Buster Challenge if you are interested in decluttering your home.
Declutter Your Scariest Space Challenge
This is not a fun picture to look at. This was what our garage looked like on Friday afternoon. We spent all winter throwing items out there that we didn’t want to deal with and it was finally nice enough to tackle.
With an hour or two of work on Friday and again on Saturday we managed to install two cabinets, sort through all the items, and make a plan for donations and spring clean up week in our area. We now have enough room for the kids to park bikes and for us to still walk around.
Decluttering doesn’t need to be an all consuming event or something to dread. So that’s why I’m challenging you to Declutter Your Scariest Space. Whatever area in your house makes you cringe – a drawer, closet, room, shelf, etc – let’s take it on together.
Mother’s Day Books
Need a Mother’s Day idea? Skip the flowers an choose a book instead! These books cover a variety of topics but each one has made an impact on me.
Easy pepperoni pizza twists – use my homemade dough or grab your favorite from the store. The kids will love them and you will be glad they are actually eating 😉
These are easily customizable to everyone’s tastes. They also reheat really well! Serve with my homemade pizza sauce or your favorite marinara plus a fresh salad on the side. Yum!
Let us be women…
This quote was one of the first things that jumped out at me as I started reading Mended. We try so hard to find solutions on our own or simply complain when we don’t like our current situation – but how often do we bring these things to God?
Yes, this book is technically about relationships between mothers and daughters, but I’m picking out tidbits that are good for every relationship.
I look forward to sharing more about Mended with you in the future but for now you can read a bit more about it on my blog as well as pre-order your own copy or request your library purchase one. It would also make a great Mother’s Day gift 💕
So much of my drive for blogging and sharing is to remind moms that in all these repetitive days, in all the loads of laundry, in all the sassy attitudes, there is still so much good, if we choose to slow down and look.
This is a reminder I still need most days. I don’t share because I’m awesome at this. I share because I need it just as much as every other mom.
Have More Fun, a new book from Mandy Arioto, is so good. I think I read it in a couple hours, highlighting over and over. It comes out in April and I highly suggest grabbing a copy for yourself and maybe for a friend as well. It would make a great Mother’s Day gift!

Are you a meal planner? Or do you wing it at dinner time?
I’ve been meal planning for 10+ years. While I know the tricks and I do enjoy it, there are also times I’m over the whole thing. It’s never ending since we can’t simply stop eating and I know what would happen to our grocery bill if we stopped planning ahead.
Thankfully I found some help. A little resource to keep in my back pocket for when my brain can’t put together a few days worth of meals. When I can’t decide what to eat. When I have no idea what groceries are needed.
The Healthy Meal Planning Bundle is my helper. It contains 1000+ recipes and 30+ meal plans. Busy week? I can use the slow cooker or easy meals plan. Can’t handle more dishes? One pot dinners to the rescue. Need a recipe to accommodate specific dietary needs? Keto, Paleo, allergens, vegetarian, and more are all sorted in an easy to search index.
Yes, this will definitely be my new friend in the kitchen and so helpful to this tired mom brain.
Can I be honest? I don’t really like 🍫 chocolate! 😲
I pass up most chocolate desserts every time… except brownies. I Iooooove brownies. The denser and fudgier the better.
So this week I’m sharing my favorite homemade brownie recipe. It’s super easy and comes together just as quickly as a box mix.
Do you prefer an edge or center brownie?
Happy Launch Day, @finding_joy! The Brave Art of Motherhood is going to help so many women to step out of fear, make some needed changes, and do what God has put on their hearts.
If you have a dream, no matter how big or small, it is worth going after. Put aside the excuses, summon your inner childhood faith (you know, the one that wanted to fly to the moon or teach children how to read) and take the first step.
The link to my post about the book is in my profile. Otherwise just go get your hands on it. I promise it and you are worth it.
Hello beautiful. Please get in my belly.
I simply had to make a pan of caramel rolls to welcome Micah home from a week away. He won’t get one until tonight and we already ate a bunch for breakfast, but it’s the thought that counts, right?
It was also a way to keep me busy because after a week without him I’m going a little nuts. And of course his flight is delayed. And we have a storm rolling in. Ugh!
I guess I’ll go eat another roll 😉
My new box from @stitchfix arrived yesterday! I loved everything as it came out and I didn’t know what to choose! But trying things on helped me make some decisions.
Want to see what I got? Head to my Facebook page and watch the live unboxing or visit my stories to see the items once I tried them on.
Let me know your thoughts! Have you tried Stitch Fix? If you haven’t but want to give it a shot you can use the link in my profile to get your first box for free! Whoop, whoop! 🎉
These days, I usually need dinner to come together in a snap. We are too busy playing outside for elaborate meals most nights! This easy, cheesy, chicken & broccoli pasta can be on your table in less than 30 minutes! Plus it has everything you need in one bowl meaning less dishes 🙌
If there was ever a shirt that summed up my life this must be it. With five kids between 3 and 9 there is no avoiding chaos. They are loud; they are energetic; they are busy and curious and KIDS.
I have embraced this life, although sometimes I do hide in the closet with headphones 🙉 and I purposefully choose joy. Some days are way easier than others, but I still chose joy because God is good.
On the blog today I’m sharing this shirt plus a whole bunch of other awesome mom graphic tees – perfect for your Mother’s Day wishlist 😉
I’d like to introduce Mr.Cheddar Bay Waffle. Perhaps you’ve seen commercials for him topped with a fried lobster tail and slathered in syrup. I went a different direction and topped him with chili, cheddar cheese, and sour cream instead.
For the last few years I would make cornbread waffles to eat with chili but after seeing the ads for Cheddar Bay Waffles I knew I needed to try my hand at them.
Everyone preferred them to the cornbread waffles and they didn’t dry out after a day or so the way cornbread waffles did. They are also excellent dipped in broccoli cheese soup 😉
